The London Majors have lost one of their all-time greats.
Wayne Fenlon, who was behind the dish for 22 years (1968-88) as a Major, died yesterday, just days after falling and breaking his hip. Fenlon was 73. He leaves behind his wife, Glenda, sons Neal and Nathan and daughter, Joanna.
Affectionately known as “Doggie,” Fenlon was a member of three Intercounty Baseball League championship teams, including during his rookie season. A three-time all-star as a player, and an all-star manager in ’88, Fenlon played in 508 games, and collected 577 hits and 309 RBI, amongst the best in league history.
