WOLFPAAC Ups Record 2-1
London WOLFPAAC:
The U19 London WOLFPAAC continued their strong start to the 2026 Ontario Women’s Football League season on Saturday, defeating the Hamilton Ti-Cats 23-7 at CityWide Field in London.
The defending provincial champions showcased the balanced style of football that has become a hallmark of the program, with contributions from offence, defence, and special teams throughout the contest.
A standout performance came from Taj Thompson, who electrified the home crowd with two punt return touchdowns, providing a major spark for the WOLFPAAC and helping secure the team’s second victory of the season.
WOLFPAAC President Scott Knight credited the team’s success to the commitment and hard work displayed by the players both on game day and throughout the week.
“One of the biggest strengths of this football team is the balance we have across all three phases of the game – offence, defence, and special teams,” said Knight. “Our girls have been working incredibly hard at practice, constantly pushing themselves to improve and support one another. As defending champions, we knew there would be challenges coming into this season. We graduated several original players who either aged out or moved on to college, but our new players have stepped in and fit into our culture exceptionally well. They’re learning quickly, competing hard, and making meaningful contributions every week.”
The team was led this week by Assistant Coach Brett Jurgens, who remains undefeated while serving as Acting Head Coach.
Jurgens praised the effort and determination displayed by the players throughout the game.
“I couldn’t be prouder of this group,” said Jurgens. “These girls continue to demonstrate tremendous grit, passion, and a willingness to learn every time they step onto the field. They trust the process, they support each other, and they never quit competing. It’s been a privilege to work with them, and I’m excited to see how much more they can accomplish as the season progresses.”
The victory sends the WOLFPAAC into their bye week with momentum before returning to action the following weekend when they travel north to face the Sudbury Spartans.
