Pandemic Melts Ice At All City Arenas

The City of London has announced that it will not have ice at its 11 arenas at least until Labour Day, even if the provincial government gives municipalities the green light to offer ice pads this summer.

Even the City’s last holdout – Bostwick Community Centre – will not offer an ice pad, as was the original plan.

Minor hockey tryouts have been postponed until this fall as well.

Operators of Western Fair District’s four pads, and London Sports Park’s two pads, are awaiting word from the Province in regards to whether or not they will operate.

Current plans at the Wellness Centre in Komoka call for one pad to remain ready, pending the Province’s announcement.
