Ting Was EBBA Founding Member











Renowned cartoonist Merle (Ting) Tingley, editorial cartoonist for The London Free Press from 1948 to 1986, died Sunday. He was 95.

Tingley is best known for his mascot, Luke Worm. He was a founding member of Eager Beaver Baseball Association (est. 1955), London’s first organized minor sports association. In late-winter ’55,¬†early in his career with the Free Press, Tingley donated his time to draw the association’s first mascot/logo, the EBBA Beaver.
