From the Western Mustangs:

The Western Mustangs co-ed cheerleading team made it 34 wins in 35 years at the PCA National Collegiate Championship Dec. 1 at the CAA Centre in Brampton.

The Mustangs¬†beat Queen’s with a final score of 475.7.

“I am very proud of the athletes because this year’s team of 36, had 16 rookies and only four seniors,” said Mustangs head coach David-Lee Tracey “The burden of expectation for the Mustang cheerleaders to win is heavy,¬† yet they carried it well and put on two excellent performances in both rounds of the competition.”

The Western All-Girls team also came home with some hardware, finishing second in the University All-Girl division. The Mustangs finished with a final score of 449.9, which trailed only Guelph who finished with a score of 451.7.
