Lightning Re-Sign Speed Guard Xavier Moon

Fresh off a training camp stint with the Raptors905, Xavier Moon will make his return to the Forest City for the 2019-20 season.

Moon put together an impressive first season for the Bolts last year averaging 13.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game in 40 appearances. Widely considered one of the league’s fastest players, Xavier proved to be a great two-way player, finishing last season among the league leaders in total steals as well as steals per game.

“X has proven he’s a dynamic player in our league and his experience with the 905 this preseason has helped elevate his game and confidence to another level. His quickness and ability to breakdown defenses is top tier. We will look for him to take the next step this year with his game and helping our organization get back to the top of the NBLC,” said head coach Doug Plumb.

“(I’m) extremely excited and blessed to be back in London for my second year! I’m ready to get to work and looking forward to the season!” said Moon.

Bolts Sign Phillips

Wednesday November 6, 2019 (LONDON, ON) The London Lightning are pleased to announce that they have signed veteran big man Randy Phillips for the 2019-2020 season.

After a solid first season in the National Basketball League of Canada last year with the Saint John Riptide, the Lightning have brought in 6’8 Randy Phillips to shore up the frontcourt. Phillips looks to improve during his second NBL season and will bring a much needed toughness and competitive fire to the Lightning.

“Randy is a warrior. Last season he has a compound fracture and was supposed to be out six weeks. The next game he taped his finger up and suited up and put together a dominating performance. He is as tough as they come and is a winner. I am looking forward to adding him to our roster. He exudes toughness and grit,” said head coach Doug Plumb.

“(I’m) super excited about joining the London Lighting family. Can’t wait to get to work to put together a great season and bring the championship back to London!” said Phillips.
