The London Lightning are pleased to announce the re-signing of wing, Anthony (AJ) Gaines Jr.

Gaines Jr. was one the NBL Canada’s most electrifying players last season as he wowed fans and media alike with his highlight worthy dunks and acrobatic finishes. Appearing in 45 games last season for the Bolts, the 6’4″ swingman provided much needed scoring off the bench, ranking second on the team in total points scored (636) and third in points per game (14.1).

The Shreveport, Louisiana native is the third player announced from last season to re-sign with the Bolts, joining Xavier Moon and Marcus Capers.

“AJ has worked extremely hard this summer to expand his game. That combined with his ability to generate electric plays on both sides of the basketball is something that is exciting to both the fans and the makeup of our team. Very happy to have him back in a Lightning uniform,” said head coach Doug Plumb.

“I’m excited to return to London to play in front of their great fans and build towards another championship!” said Gaines.
