Commonwealth Silver For Takahashi

London’s Steve Takahashi captured silver yesterday in men’s freestyle wrestling 57 kilogram division at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

Takahashi follows in the footsteps of his father, Ray, who won silver at the 1982 Games in Brisbane, Australia. He also claimed gold at the 1978 Games in Edmonton. Today, he coaches his son.

Rahul Aware of India won gold yesterday, with a score of 15-7.

Said Steve Takahashi, “I wanted to┬ácome here and get a medal, hopefully to beat my dad. I really wanted that gold. It’s a bittersweet feeling.”
