(London, Ontario) – Fanshawe Athletics announced today the appointment of Tyler Hetherington as the Head Coach of the new Falcons ESports extramural team.

Fanshawe recently joined the new Ontario Post Secondary Esports League (OPSE) to compete against other Colleges and Universities around the province in four ESport games: Hearthstone, League of Legends, Overwatch and Rocket League.

Hetherington is the Events and Activities Coordinator within the Fanshawe Student Union (FSU). Shortly after being hired in 2016, he developed and implemented Fanshawe’s Ultimate ESports League (FUEL), which has been the hub for ESports on the Fanshawe College campus. Under the direction of Hetherington, the program has flourished to include individuals and teams across multiple games competing in local and national tournaments.
