Angou led the Falcons to a 17-1 OCAA regular season record and ultimately a Provincial Championship title. For the second consecutive year, she was named the OCAA Player of the Year and an OCAA Tournament All-Star. In 2019-20 regular season play, Angou led the CCAA and set a new OCAA record for best free throw percentage in a season, going 89.6% from the line. She averaged a team-high 18.4 points per game and led the conference with 28.5 points per 40 minutes. Angou shot 40.2% from the field and led the West Division in three point percentage (36.2%).

During the three-day OCAA Provincial Championship tournament, Angou averaged 25 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Her free throw percentage was an impressive 92% (24 for 26) and she shot nearly 40% from three-point range.

“Chuot’s talent on the court is undeniable, but what is most impressive is her passion for competing”, said Head Coach Bill Carriere. “She can create for both herself and her teammates offensively and is tenacious defensively. Her competitive spirit is most noticeable in practice where she is always bringing a high level of intensity and communication. Chuot works hard to develop both her skills and leadership qualities and in the process, has made everybody around her a better player. She has bought-in to the ‘team-first’ mentality that we preach and is always the first one supporting her teammates’ success. Chuot is incredibly deserving of this award and we are very proud of her.”

Fanshawe’s Manager of Athletics, Nathan McFadden, stated that “Chuot is such a special student-athlete and has set a standard of excellence for Fanshawe basketball like no one before her. Her intensity, mental toughness, and strong will to compete and succeed are impressive. She is an exceptional leader, teammate and person who is extremely deserving of this honour.”

The No. 4 nationally ranked Fanshawe Women’s Basketball team concluded their season on an 18-game win streak and a second consecutive OCAA crown. Unfortunately, the CCAA National Championship scheduled for March 18-21 in Nanaimo, British Columbia was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns.
