LondonOntarioGolf.com Merges With Sports Website
(London, ONT) – LondonOntarioSports.com, London’s Trusted Source for Sports News & Information, has re-launched with a fresh look and expanded award-winning golf reporting.
LondonOntarioGolf.com (est. 2004), The Voice of Golf in Southwestern Ontario, is now fully published at LondonOntarioSports.com.
The amalgamation of these two award-winning websites offers unequalled sports coverage in Southwestern Ontario, and offers readers one-stop shopping for all-things sports in London and area, said Publisher and Editor Jeffrey Reed.
“When I launched LondonOntarioSports.com in late-2015, I did so with the intention of better serving the dedicated sports fans of Southwestern Ontario,” said Reed, a member of the London sports media since 1980 and a multiple national and international winner for excellence in sports journalism.
“In addition, it was always my intention to move LondonOntarioGolf.com, one of Canada’s leading golf website publications, to what is now the parent publication – LondonOntarioSports.com.
“Nothing changes in terms of the golf coverage we offer,” said Reed, the only back-to-back winner of Best Website Feature Column from the Golf Journalists Association of Canada. “In addition to our leading coverage of local golf, we continue to publish news from sources including the Junior Tyson Tour, Golf Ontario, PGA of Ontario and PGA of Canada, Golf Canada and the Mackenzie Tour PGA TOUR Canada.”
Reviews, travel news and course listings at LondonOntarioGolf.com have also migrated to LondonOntarioSports.com at a new dedicated section: Golf.
“The LondonOntarioGolf.com brand continues – nothing changes,” said Reed. “Our logo and our presence within the community and beyond remain unchanged. Visitors to the LondonOntarioGolf.com domain are now automatically directed to our new Golf section at LondonOntarioSports.com.”
With its new Golf section, LondonOntarioSports.com builds upon its already unrivalled offering of local sports news and information. Reed is one of Canada’s most recognizable sports writers. A three-time author, Reed penned, EBBA 40 Years of Baseball (1994), London’s first baseball history book. In 2008, he wrote, The Canadian Seniors’ Golf Association, Celebrating 100 Years of Seniors Golf 1918-2018, now housed in the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame and Museum.
A print, photo, broadcast and new media journalist, Reed is also a much sought-after speaker. In 2016, he and his wife, Beth, established the Jeffrey Reed Courage Award, presented annually along with $1,000 by LondonOntarioSports.com to a Southwestern Ontario athlete who demonstrates courage on and off the playing field. A disabled athlete, Reed was a pitcher with the London Majors of the semi-professional Intercounty Baseball League.
