The Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) and Prairie Turf Equipment are proud to announce Chris Whittaker, CTEM, Equipment Manager at The Winston Golf Club in Calgary, Alberta, as the 2025 CGSA/Prairie Turf Equipment – Equipment Technician of the Year recipient.

This award recognizes a technician who demonstrates professionalism, innovation, teamwork, and significant contributions to their golf facility and the broader golf community.

As the winner, Chris will receive an All-Access registration to The Canadian 2026 Golf Course Management Conference in Calgary (February 24–26, 2026), four nights’ accommodation, and transportation to the event.

Chris’s nomination highlighted his dedication, expertise, and generosity in sharing knowledge. He became the first Canadian Equipment Technician certified as a GCSAA CTEM member in 2022, has been featured in GreenMaster Magazine, and he’s set to inspire delegates at the 2026 CGSA Conference in Calgary. Chris personally maintains all 730 tires at The Winston Golf Club, showcasing his hands-on commitment.
