A new private golf club, accompanied by 12 two-bedroom accommodations, have been proposed for rural land just north of Mt. Brydges at 9221 Olde Drive.
London-based consulting firm Zelinka Priamo Ltd. has filed the proposal on behalf of Edwin Bolton, owner of hunting venue Gold Creek Farms which rests at that address. Its website defines the property as “150 acres in Caradoc Township for your sporting pleasure. Hunting surroundings include a 4-acre pond, rolling hills of pines nestled beside a 10-acre woodlot, various cropland and grass fields.”
Bolton’s LinkedIn page calls Gold Creek Farms an “Ontario premium pheasant hunting club.”
The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc says the plan would also seen an expansion of the hunting operations, the removal of an existing home and construction of a new residence.
Strathroy-Caradoc residents attended a public meeting last evening with discussion of the proposed zoning bylaw amendment.
The proposed golf course would rest just east of the semi-private Caradoc Sands Golf Club. Currently in London and Middlesex County, there are eight private golf clubs.
