Burke Repeats As Ontario Men’s Mid-Am Champ

Kitchener’s Cam Burke of Golf Canada Club – Ontario successfully defended his Ontario Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship Wednesday at Sarnia Golf and Curling Club with a two-stroke victory over Kyle Gordon of Coppinwood Golf Club in Uxbridge and Derek Dalziel of The Oaks Golf and Country Club in Delaware.

Burke fired rounds of 73-65-71–209 (-7) for the repeat victory. His second-round 7-under 65 tied for the lowest round of the three-day event. He’s the reigning Canadian Men’s Mid-Amateur champ.

The tournament was riddled by heavy rain and winds which saw Wednesday’s final round stalled by multiple delays totaling more than three hours.

Dalziel’s three-day total 70-70-71–211 (-5) was best in the Mid-Master division.

Charles Fitzsimmons of Summit Golf and Country Club in Richmond Hill finished T4 at -4. The former Western Mustangs star captured this season’s Early Bird Tournament and Ontario Men’s Match Play Championship.

The top 32 players have earned spots in the field at the 2025 Canadian Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship Aug. 19-22 at Seymour Golf & Country Club in North Vancouver, B.C., BC, from August 19–22, 2025.

Locals Dalziel, Eric Flockhart (London H&CC), Stephen Brown (Sarnia G&CC), Adam Graham (Sarnia G&CC), Jackson Bowery (St. Thomas G&CC), Graham Hill (Sarnia G&CC), Nicolas Herrara (Hickory Ridge G&CC, London) and Jeremy Foran (St. Marys G&CC) are all headed to Vancouver.
