Golf Ontario’s Junior Boys and Junior Girls Spring Classic events finished Tuesday, with Brayden Card (Whistle Bear GC – photo above) and Kaprice Park (Rattlesnake Point GC – photo below) crowned champions.

At Wooden Sticks GC in Uxbridge, Card tied Jackson Murphy of Cataraqui G&CC at 8-under-par over three rounds of regulation play before winning a four-hole playoff. He shot 69-69-70—208 to better third-place finisher Matthew Simpson (Lambton G&CC) by a stroke. Murphy impressed with rounds of 65 (lowest round of the tournament), 68 and 75.

Joseph Totino was the only Boys U17 golfer under par at 68-73-71—212 (-4), which in addition to being that bracket’s winning score was also good enough for T4 overall.

Bryce Burridge (Highland CC) was the top local finisher at T19 with rounds of 71-76-75—222 (+6). His score was good for fifth spot in the Boys U17 division. Andrew Sudicky (St. Thomas G&CC) finished at 8-over-par, good for T23 overall and T7 in the U17 bracket.

At Kawartha Golf Club in Peterborough, Park won the overall and Girls U17 titles with rounds of 71-70-70—211 (-5), four strokes better (overall and in U17 play) than Kaylan Green (Scarboro G&CC) – the only other golfer under par.

Andrea Lai (St. Thomas G&CC) posted rounds of 73-78-72—223 (+7), good for T5 on both the overall and Girls U17 brackets. Sofia Rocca (Sarnia G&CC) missed the cut.
