YMCA of Southwestern Ontario Launches 2025 Fill the Bus Campaign to Support Families and Give Kids the Joy of Camp
Southwestern Ontario – As summer approaches, many families across Southwestern Ontario are faced with the challenge of finding safe, affordable care that keeps their children active, engaged, and thriving. In response, YMCA of Southwestern Ontario has launched its annual 2025 Fill the Bus campaign with a goal to raise $250,000—enough to provide 1,250 children with access to enriching YMCA summer day camp experiences throughout the region.
“Every child deserves a summer filled with fun, friendships, and new experiences,” said Andrew Lockie, CEO of YMCA of Southwestern Ontario. “At the same time, parents need a trusted, affordable option for summer care. Our camps provide both—helping kids grow while giving families peace of mind.”
YMCA summer day camps offer more than just a place to go—they create opportunities for children to build confidence, develop social skills, and stay active in a supportive, values-based environment. For parents and caregivers, YMCA camps represent a reliable, high-quality solution for child care during the critical summer months.
“As a charity, we rely on the generosity of our community—donors, sponsors, and supporters—to make the life-changing experience of camp accessible to all,” said Christina Harley, Vice President of Development at YMCA of Southwestern Ontario. “Thanks to an incredible $35,000 donation from Mainstreet Credit Union, our presenting sponsor, 175 children will enjoy a summer filled with joy and discovery. But there are still many more families who need our support. Join us in making camp possible for even more kids this year!”
Community members are invited to be part of this impactful effort. Every $200 donation sends one child to camp, providing not just care but lasting memories and meaningful growth. Help a child. Support a family. Donate now.
