The London Sports Hall of Fame selection committee has announced its Class of 2026, but there’s one glaring omission: long-time sports official Joe Serratore.
Today, the Hall announced recently retired Western football head coach Greg Marshall, former Mustangs wrestling coach Ray Takahashi, Western’s 1971-78 women’s volleyball teams, former NHLer and London Knights tough guy Dave Hutchison, late wheelchair basketball organizer Paul Bowes and para-swimming star Marie Claire Bilyk (Ross) will be inducted into the Hall on November 5 at the Hellenic Centre.
Meanwhile, Serratore will have to wait before he is enshrined into the local sports hall.
In a strange turn of events, Serratore was – during a selection committee meeting – voted into the Hall in 2019, according to Serratore, only to see the committee change their minds. You can read that story here .
